How to use this CAVRN diagnostic
The 15 questions sample all seven January 2027 domains and intentionally include revised concepts such as AI-enabled surveillance, caregivers, social drivers of health, AI-assisted documentation, technology-based escalation, workflow validation, and analytic dashboards. Because the set is short, treat the result as an initial signal and confirm every pattern with larger mixed and domain-specific sets.
High-yield CAVRN study priorities
Priority 1
Practise communication as a clinical skill
Communication is 24% of the revised outline. Use scenarios that test virtual entry, role clarity, presence, active listening, closed loop techniques, conflict resolution, privacy, and communication-plan design.
Priority 2
Interpret technology; do not defer to it
For alerts, predictive analytics, ambient documentation, and dashboards, verify accuracy, integrate clinical context, follow policy, document clearly, and escalate through the correct pathway.
Priority 3
Include caregivers without losing autonomy
Assess patient preferences, privacy, learning needs, caregiver role, health literacy, language, cognition, technology access, comprehension, and resource barriers before teaching.
Priority 4
Rehearse boundary and escalation decisions
Distinguish the virtual nurse, bedside nurse, provider, support staff, and technology team's responsibilities; apply scope, delegation rights, shared decisions, chain of escalation, and follow-through.
CAVRN exam FAQ
